AI seems to be the hot topic everywhere these days, as every industry seems to be figuring out ways to embrace (or reject) this new technology.
We're starting to see a rapid influx of AI created writings, recipes, imagery, menus, and flyers going around, and we can imagine there is some confusing on when using AI is appropriate in food.
So in this one, we thought we'd give you an easy-to-use guide for how to use AI in cooking, with instructions both for those looking for AI recipes and those creating AI recipes!
Instructions – How to Use AI in Recipes (as a Recipe)
So, let's say you want to use AI recipes to make a dish at home. We have a pretty simple process for how to do it in just a few simple steps:
- Open your favorite search engine
- Search “[dish name] recipes”
- Skip the AI Overviews
- Open up a blog or magazine that created the recipe themslves
- Use that recipe
- After you're done eating, cancel your AI subscription for dessert
See, easy!
Now, that is not to say that all websites out there created their recipes, because many are leaning into AI these days, but this is a start. That said, if you see an AI image, the easiest option for you to do is back out of that page, try another site, and hope they are a bit more ethical than the previous page you visited.
How to Use AI to Create a Recipe for Your Site
We also have a great set of instructions for those who want to create a recipe, too. Oh, don't you worry, we've got AI recipe developers some instructions, too:
- Go outside and get inspired by real life
- Buy ingredients (locally, ideally)
- Test your recipe
- Refine until it is perfect
- Take photos when ready (you have a cell phone camera in your pocket right now most likely)
- Write out those steps using a keyboard
- Hit publish

Do You Use AI in Recipes? You Deserve to Fail
Okay, so I tricked you into reading this, didn't I? You were actually looking for advice on how to lie to your readers and/or customers by using AI, it seems. Or, if a home cook, how to get a recipe that cuts out its creator from the process.
If you continue down this route, not only does your business or recipe deserve to fail, I'll go farther and say it plainly: it will fail.
